HOW TO USE ZOOM

Zoom is a web-based video conferencing tool with a local, desktop and mobile app that allows users to meet online, with or without video.

Zoom users can choose to record sessions, and share screens, all with one easy-to-use platform.

Since I am the host of our Zoom session, you will not have much to do at all.

Before joining a Zoom meeting on a computer or mobile device, you can download the Zoom App from Zoom – but even this is not necessary. This is because I will send you an e-mail inviting you to our Zoom session. The e-mail will let you know when the meeting will take place. The e-mail will also have a link that will prompt you to download and install Zoom.

The download process is almost automatic.

Once you open the meeting, you will be asked if you wish to connect via audio only or video.

The primary benefit of Zoom is that it enables us to screen share. This means that we can have your chart or any other documents or information available to us during our conversation.   The video recording will include anything that was shared on the screen.  The video recording is an MP4 file – the same file that you typically download any other video or movies.

If you are already familiar with Zoom, great. If this is your first time using Zoom, just like anything else being done for the first time, this may appear a bit daunting. I assure you that it is not!
